Dearest Foodies,


Welcome to my blog, Eat with Skylar. I’ve always considered myself to be a gastronome- meaning one who takes pleasure in eating and drinking.


What you need to know about me is rather simple- I love food- I love to cook it, I love to eat it, and I even love to write about it. So here I am looking to share my recipes, my opinions, my favorite kitchen merchandise items and more with all of you food lovers.


Upon graduating from the Chaplin School of Hospitality at Florida International University, the last seven years have been both challenging and rewarding as I have been fortunate to work in high end luxury hotels and locations all across the U.S as well as the Virgin Islands for one of the premier hospitality organizations in the world.


To shed light on my exposure to everything food & beverage - my story began with me building a technical foundation for cooking from my food preparation courses at FIU, from there I progressed to act as an assistant restaurant manager for a top Steakhouse in Atlanta, it was there that I began building close professional relationships with culinary experts. After my time in Atlanta I went onto San Francisco where I was simply a consumer for everything food & wine but when I transferred to St Thomas Virgin Islands I really began to learn more about luxury food service, menu planning, food cost and more. After hurricane Irma devastated the Virgin Islands, I was offered the chance to oversee a luxury Club Lounge in Florida where I was responsible for collaborating with chefs and a pastry team on a daily basis and even was responsible to plan & execute food & beverage related events. From there I relocated to Fort Lauderdale Florida and began to act as an Assistant Director of Food & Beverage where I currently oversee five food & beverage outlets.

With my career consistently consuming 110% of my time, the forced closing of my property (workplace) due to COVID-19 provided me with the time to explore my passion for business and further develop my culinary repertoire, leading me to launch EatwithSkylar,com so I hope that you will join me on this journey and enjoy all of the fun content along the way.
